The Alert Wildfire project will provide needed early fire detection and situational awareness, earthquake monitoring, extreme weather and other public safety initiatives.  Alert Wildfire in the North Bay expands to cover Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Mendocino, and Lake Counties. Fiber located at Sonoma State University (SSU) is the primary drop off point to the new network of cameras to be installed at SSU’s Fairfield Osborn Preserve. SSU’s network will back up Sonoma County Sheriff’s network if a redirection is needed during an emergency.

The Anthropological Studies Center (ASC) will provide professional and technical cultural resources work for Caltrans, which will support the development and construction of the State transportation system in the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma.  The services provided by ASC will assist Caltrans in complying with Federal and State environmental laws, cultural resource laws, stewardship of state-owned historic resources, cultural resources inventory of state right-of-way, and project-specific archaeological

The Anthropological Studies Center (ASC) will evaluate the National Register eligibility of identified historic-component cultural resources as potential contributors to the Malakoff Diggins North Bloomfield historic district.  This project is a continuation of the ongoing survey conducted by ASC since 2015 and will continue through September 30, 2020 under the agreement with the Department of Parks and Recreation.
