Research Opportunities
The Office of Student Research offers research awards to support students at all levels who are working on research and creative projects. Additionally, opportunities to conduct research and participate in internships can be found both within California and nationwide, especially summer research opportunity programs, which offer upper division undergraduate students with the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors on research projects over the summer. These programs are designed for students who wish to learn more about the graduate school experience and possibly pursue an academic career in teaching and research.
Opportunities are available in virtually all academic fields (e.g., arts, humanities, social sciences, life sciences, health sciences, physical sciences, etc.) and often include financial support. Application deadlines vary, but these programs can be quite competitive, so give yourself plenty of time to complete the application materials and consider applying to several programs.
