The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is the hub for research, scholarship, and creative activity (RSCA) opportunities at Sonoma State.

Since January 2025, the federal funding landscape has continued to evolve through executive orders, agency guidance, and proposed changes to 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance). ORSP is actively monitoring these developments. The Council on Governmental Relations (COGR) provides a regularly updated resource page with links to government documents, analyses, and other materials related to these federal policy changes and their potential impacts on federally funded research.

Proposals

• ORSP will continue submitting proposals as long as federal submission systems remain operational.
• When preparing proposals, verify deadlines, as they may change, and confirm that funding announcements have not been revised.

Awards

• Programs may experience restructuring, delays, or defunding; guidance will be provided as it becomes available.
• Modifications, increments, or extensions may be delayed as federal programs undergo review.
• Principal Investigators/Project Directors should immediately contact orsp@sonoma.edu if they receive a stop work order or a request for institutional certifications or assurances from their sponsoring agency.
