The project funds the purchase of 12 body-worn cameras and related hardware, software, and warranties.

Sonoma State University endeavors to strengthen its emergency communication capabilities by partnering with the County of Sonoma, and specifically the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department T-Comm Bureau, to acquire and install upgraded critical radio equipment to respond to domestic terrorism (e.g. active shooter, arson, sideshow, etc.) incidents to save lives, protect property, apprehend suspects, and reduce the impacts of critical incidents that may occur on or around the University.
toSonoma State University - Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Generator
This award will allow for the installation of a new standalone generator to meet the back up power requirements of the EOC in the Schulz Information Center; and associated transformer, panelboard, heat pump and modifications to existing fuel system and controls to accommodate the new generator. The new generator will utilize the existing fuel tank in the facility area.
toThe Interpersonal Violence Prevention Initiatives: Strengthening Campus Community Partnerships & Implementing a Bystander Intervention Program
In an effort to create a safer campus environment that will allow all community members to thrive, SSU will increase awareness of issues, policies, protocols, & supportive resources related to sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, sexual harassment, stalking.

toFuels Reduction - Eucalyptus Tree Removal
From their Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, FEMA has approved and issued, through the pass-through entity, CalOES, the Fuels Reduction-Eucalyptus Tree Removal project for Sonoma State University. The project entails the removal of approximately 205 varying sized eucalyptus trees growing on the perimeter of SSU’s campus along the east side on Petaluma Hill Road and on the south side of East Cotati Avenue. The project is expected to be completed by 12/24/2021.

The Alert Wildfire project will provide needed early fire detection and situational awareness, earthquake monitoring, extreme weather and other public safety initiatives. Alert Wildfire in the North Bay expands to cover Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Mendocino, and Lake Counties. Fiber located at Sonoma State University (SSU) is the primary drop off point to the new network of cameras to be installed at SSU’s Fairfield Osborn Preserve. SSU’s network will back up Sonoma County Sheriff’s network if a redirection is needed during an emergency.
