Abstract:
My poster exemplifies what Native American have gone through to get the rights that they have now as well as how they view the world. Included in this poster are some important treaties and movements as well as important figures like Wilma Mankiller. At this time in the 70’s Native American’s viewed LBGTQ members as “two spirit people” which already shows you that Native American’s viewed the world differently than others. They had to work very hard to receive the territory that was taken from them but the peace in the middle shows that they have come to an understanding and respect one another. Their traditions and spiritual beliefs may not always line up with other cultures but they respect other people’s opinions and viewpoints which makes Native Americans one of the most accepting of others. These Native American’s were strong willed when it came to their rights and territory being taken away which is why they were able to succeed.
