Abstract:
Fashion is not only inspired by one individual but an entire collective of personalities. Everyday fashion has greatly evolved over decades and there are various influences in the fashions of a decade. Socioeconomic class, personality and historical movements all played a collective role in determining fashion trends in the 1970s amongst other decades. When we focus on the ChicanX community, their trends were personalized and defied other mainstream trends of the 1970s. Race and socioeconomic status played a role in this as well.
