Abstract:
This project compares the use of an immerse 360-degree instructional video to a written guide on how to set up and utilize a terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) in order to study forest and fire ecology. The instructional video and the written guide convey the same information about the order in which the TLS is set up, as well as the same information about how the data collected helps researchers gain access to information about trees which then allows them to study their structure, dynamic, and ecological functions on a larger scale. The comprehension of the information presented based upon which education method someone learned about the TLS through is the main focus of this project.
