Abstract:
My research was on feminist advancements in the 1980s and where it has led us today. The 80s was a time for women to think about who they were and what they wanted to do in their life and decided to do it. They questioned their societal role and did exactly what they thought was the right thing for them and other women. Women made change in almost every industry; art, politics, music, and even television. Although women had been making advancements before the 80’s, this was a significant period of growth within the feminist movement. They steered away from the fear of what society thought of them and fought back in order to achieve their dreams. I chose this medium because I thought it was the only way to demonstrate each advancement that women made during this time. Each page and drawing signifies a different aspect of what women did in the 80s and I think that was very important to display.
