Abstract:
Smooth Power aims to reduce the initial current spike on a battery when a load is applied. A microcontroller is used to monitor system battery, supercapacitor bank, incoming solar voltage for the recharging of the battery, and controlling the charge and discharge of the supercapacitors. The supercapacitors are able to reduce the current spike on the battery sees by nearly 90% when a load is applied on the system.
