Abstract:
This film focuses on two stars of the 1920s silent film era as they adjust to changing technology and the introduction of talking pictures. Robert Goldman, an award-winning silent film Director, worries that his work will lose relevance if he doesn’t adopt synchronized sound. Helen Grant, a highly successful silent film actress, faces the harsh reality that acting with dialogue is a very different artform. As Robert and Helen maneuver the challenges associated with a new style of filmmaking, their lives take very different paths.
