Abstract:
My poster board is about a Native American legend named Red Cloud. The images that I chose are key events that occured in Red Clouds life. For example, the first picture shows a picture of Red Cloud himself. The picture below that is of Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, and Crazy Horse. They all assisted Red Cloud and eventually took his place. Red Cloud was part of the Sioux Tribe, on the poster board there is an image showing what their lives were like. I also included a photo of where the Sioux Tribe was located on the map. The Fetterman Massacre is one of the highlights of Red Cloud's life. This event was where Red Cloud defended Fort Phil Kearny with 1000 men and massacred Captain William Judd Fetterman's army of 80 soldiers who were sent to take the fort. I have also shown an image of Red Cloud making a deal with Ulysses S. Grant. This was signinficant because Ulysses made a deal with Red Cloud but never upheld his end of the deal. This story behind the picture illustrates how the U.S. did everything they could to ruin the Native American way of life and took their land form them. This poster dipicts all of the key moments in Red Cloud's life.
