Abstract:
During the 1980's Black Americans faced a lot of hate and in the wake of the Civil Rights movement people were looking for ways to advocate for equaality in society. With the rap genre spreading as a new form of expression, artists began using it to tell about their harships and experiences. Many people did not accept the genre, and decided to ignore the stories people told through the music. Within this project I take an indepth look at how the growing musuic drama inspired adn affected Blsck AMericans during the 1980's.
