Abstract:
In northern California, there is an abundance of redwoods that provide essential environmental services. Redwoods have a considerable amount of aboveground biomass (AGB) which has been historically difficult to calculate using traditional methods. In this project, I used 3D point cloud scans of redwoods to create quantitative structure models to see if they can produce similar AGB results as traditional methods.
