Abstract:
I decided to do my project on music and movies of the 1980’s, and there importance of sending messages of racial and political unfairness going on at the time. These topics were not often talked about in the 1980’s. Performing artists like Michael Jackson were able to break barriers within the industry, that was racially segregated as well at the time. For movies I talked about the film Trading Places, and how it portrays racial segregation within the business world. I thought Trading Places was a good example of racial imbalance in this country during the 1980’s and decided to use it for my project.
