Abstract:
COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). First identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, the disease has since spread globally, resulting in a global pandemic. As of April 26th 2020, there are more than 2.95 million cases around the world, resulting in over 250,000 deaths and 860,000 people who have recovered globally. Currently in California, there are approximately 42,164 total cases. Collecting data from CalMatters and the US Census Bureau, a map of California and its’ counties was created. The map contains the total estimated population, number of COVID-19 patients, the ratio of COVID-19 postiive cases to population, among other variables. Further investigation and data collection is currently on-going.
