Abstract:
Judithe Hernandez along with many other artists have contributed to the Chicano(a) Movements within history. Within this project, we focused on the type of involvement that Judithe was in within her life and how she was inspired by other artists as well as how she brought inspiration to the Chicano(a)s. From murals, to paintings on canvas, Judithe has portrayed the pain, struggles, and the experiences of many Chicana women or Mexican women in general. Her devotion and passion for creating strong and meaningful art pieces suggests that Judithe Hernandez’s goal is to leave a powerful imprint in Chichano(a) society.  The purpose of many of her art pieces are to share the stories behind the imagery in the paintings and many of them focus on the social-political issues that are connected with gender which is why in her art pieces, she portrays a variety of Mexican culture and depictions of different women.
