Abstract:
For my project, I chose to make a shadowbox of a shoebox, some colored paper, lighting and clay. The topic for our class this semester was about the 1920’s and I chose to pick something about the music and artist that played during this time period and Jazz was my choice. I then chose to pick one of the most well known musicians from the Jazz period in the 1920’s and went with Duke Ellington as my artist. The scenery that I chose was Duke Ellignton performing under the lights in front of an audience. I chose to add black color paper surrounding the area to give more attention to Duke Ellington who I made in clay. The lighting was also a key part to the visual piece to not only see the artist, but the audience as well.
