Abstract:
Ronald Reagan was an interesting man. When I first was researching this project I generally wanted to just learn about someone everyone older than I knew but I really didn't know anything about however it became much more. He worked toward reducing government control in the pockets of the American people in businesses which were his "Reaganomics" however also made some racially-biased decisions.  My research was collected through various scholarly articles, a book we were required to read for class, and surprisingly from the audio of a phone call from Reagan himself. Although I never lived through this time period or met him in my eyes and in the research such as the book "James Baldwin and the 1980s: Witnessing the Reagan Era" I collected information to point me to the idea that he was racially driven. When I say he was racially driven it was not a good thing for the black community. This project is an analysis of Reganas years in office and how he impacted the African American Population up until this day.
