Abstract:
This research project investigates the housing burden of Sonoma State University’s student population. In this case study, the research focuses on quantifying financial burden on students, as well as other housing issues—overcrowding, instability, and living conditions. To put this into perspective, the results of this survey were compared to other Universities around the state which happened to have similar housing surveys conducted. Students’ finances vary greatly depending on family income, scholarships, and where their housing is located. This data can be used to figure out how to approach housing issues to lessen the financial burden on SSU students.
