Abstract:
My project is about the role that women play in Native culture. The poster shows pictures of different Native American women in the 70's, the color scheme and pictures were supposed to represent the 70's theme of the project. The pictures of the women were supposed to show the power and strength that they had. Native American women were very powerful and very respected. My paper for this project is going to talk about native womens roles in their community in the past and in the present, and I'm going to have a whole section based on what native women had to go through in the 70s such as sterilization of native women in the 70’s making the childbirth rate decrease. Women were always respected in their culture but before the Americans came and took over they had better status and were treated better than they were in the 70's the men outside of their tribes didn't respect them and treated them as objects instead of a human being.
