Abstract:
Taking a look at fungal laccase it can be found in many different types of fungi. It is used throughout many industries specifically helping in the decolorization and detoxification of textile dyes. Using dried Hericium Erinaceus as a source of Fungal laccase, this presentation will outline the procedure of isolating, purifying and characterizing it. Using a size-exclusion column chromatography and protein precipitation as purification steps. Throughout the purification process both a Syringaldazine and Bradford assay were used to monitor protein activity and protein concentration.
