Abstract:
The Florian Project is developing a system for the relative position tracking for firefighters (RPTFF) while they are inside of a home and makes the data available to firefighters who are outside. The goal is to provide those outside with a map of the firefighters locations who are within the home. The locations can be used in an emergency where a firefighter inside needs assistance and allows help to quickly locate them. The system will have tracking modules (tags) on each firefighter and anchor nodes outside of the home. The data will be available to firefighters outside of the home and will show them each firefighter’s location on a graphical user interface (GUI) via a web server hosted on a single board computer. The deployable anchor nodes will be placed around the outside of the building to create a geofenced area where firefighter tags can be located. The map and GUI hosted on a single board computer will be available to firefighters via a WiFi connection.
