Abstract:
Our project was about feminism of the 1980s. It dicusses the inequalities between women and men such as unequal pay, gender discrimination in jobs, abortion rights, and human rights. It also focuses on the expecations of women in society through media and the pressures set on women as to how they look. We wanted to show a sense of compariosn between feminism then and now to be able to show improvements that women have overcome and what rights they have gained. It also discusses a philisophical perspective of how women see themselves today to be apart of the fourth wave of feminism and what that means. In what we have learned of the 1980s, what can be carried over into now to help spread more awareness and equality. We can join women's movements and help educate eachother of feminism by speaking up and feeling empowered.
For our thumbnail image we wanted to represent words of feminism such as respect, success, revolution. We wanted to create a word cloud of all the words associated with feminism to show how powerful feminism is.
