Abstract:
El Teatro Campesino has had a sociopolitical legacy that's been expressed through their various themes within their actos. They became the voice of the voiceless and provided Chicanos a sense of belonging in a society that had suppressed them for years. Although they started from nothing it didn’t stop them from acknowledging the issues of their time through their actos and attempting to educate others on the importance of standing with them to solve these issues. With their unique theatrical style and powerful themes they have influenced the future generations to want to take part in their movement and they have set the standards for other Latino theatrical productions.
