Can you boil water in a paper cup?

Abstract:
Our poster shows our service learning project that is creating really awesome demo packets for the Sonoma State chem department. . Our demo is focused on boiling water in paper cups. This doesn't seem like it should be possible but it is. This demo is a fun hands-on way for students to learn about phase change and heat capacity all presented on our poster. This exciting and captivating demo also dips its toe into the world of the weather phenomena.
