Abstract:
This project focuses on Black women artists and how their art contains aspects of Black Feminism in the 1980s. There is mention of why there was a split in feminism and the changes that occurred in feminism in the 1980s. The differences between Black women artists and white women artists are the messages, experiences, and audiences in their art. These aspects connect back to the ideals of the feminisms at the time. There is mention of the identities of Black women and the struggles they face with the intersectional nature of being a Black woman in society.
