Abstract:
This painting was inspired by Black Expressionist Art in the 1970s. It represents a mural that would have been created by African Americans during the Black Neighborhood Mural Movement in the 70s. The painting consists of famous activists Martin Luther King Jr., Malcom X, and Angela Davis; and it depicts symbols that African Americans related to throughout the decade such as the black power fist, a black panther, and racial activism.
