Atari 2600, 2020
Cardboard Sculpture
This replica of an Atari 2600 console signifies the birth of video games in the 1970s. One of the original gaming consoles, the Atari 2600 sold incredibly well. It was succeeded by a large variety of consoles, but they all trace their legacy back to their ancestor, the Atari.
This piece captures the wonder that children of the 1970’s felt on Christmas morning when they received this console. It ushered in a new era of entertainment, allowing games to escape the arcade halls and enter the homes of millions.
