Alkali Metals in Water

Abstract:
This project is researching the chemistry and reasoning behind the reaction of alkali metals being combined with water. The combination of them causes a chemical reaction that results in a basic solution, flames, smoke, and sometimes an explosion. The basicity can be with the inclusion of phenolphthalein.
