Abstract:
In my project I will be discussing how African Americans are depicted in media, such as films, Tv, and music during the 1980's. African Americans were not being represented clearly on television and were steroyped in negative ways. I will be discyssing how Micheal Jackson played a role in music, a film and book titled The color Purple, as well as another book titled James Baldwin and the 1980's. The media influences peopls views on African Americans and the perceptions the public directs towards them. African Americans have been and still are frequently portrayed with negative personality characteristics.
