Abstract:
This evening dress is my portrayal of what would be popular for women's fashion. When making this dress, choosing the color scheme and the fabrics I used were all referenced from the popular news at the time. For instance, the top part of the dress is made of "gas blue" silk, while the bottom part is darker blue cotton. Additionally, I added little details that were also popular accessories. For example, I used black feathers as the sleeves and wrapped them around the chest area. Also, I noticed for evening gowns, women often went for shiny accessories, which I substituted to use sequence to make the 'V' line sparkle.
