Abstract:
This is a video lecture/podcast on how drugs were depicted in the media following the rollout of the D.A.R.E. and the “Just Say No” campaign in the 1980s. An in-depth history of the war on drugs, "Just Say No" campaign, and D.A.R.E. program. As well as media forms of two iconic print advertisements of the 1980s and President George Bush's first oval office speech.
