This project, titled Scaling Sustainability: The Impact of Business Size on Sustainable Practices, examines how business size influences the adoption and implementation of sustainable practices within the wine industry. The research explores the operational, economic, and regulatory factors that differentiate large-scale wine producers from smaller counterparts, with an emphasis on environmental stewardship, resource efficiency, and socioeconomic responsibilities. Our project will be sending out a survey, but we are currently waiting on IRB approval. Despite this, we are looking to share our hypotheses, methodology, research model, and expected findings. This research will help support SMEs in overcoming economic and logistical barriers to sustainability, as well as help create tailored incentives or subsidies for these small to medium-sized wineries. This research helps identify gaps in existing literature and influence funding for small to medium-sized wineries.
