The CSU Chancellor’s Office (CO) has engaged in the development and expansion of the Equity-Minded Pedagogy (EMP) course, designed by CSU Fresno, and supports faculty in utilizing institutional data, human-centered design, and equity-mindedness to eliminate equity gaps in students' achievements of learning outcomes and course completion. Scaling this course is part of the CO's effort to share with the rest of the system just one of many promising approaches emerging from CSU campuses to close equity gaps. The course deepens faculty understanding of structural inequalities by guiding them to do personal reflection and gather feedback from students and campus staff. Faculty then use those insights to interpret quantitative data and adjust curriculum and instruction to improve students' learning experiences and outcomes.
