The Anthropological Studies Center (ASC) will conduct cultural resources study for the Empire Mine State Historic Park environmental restoration project, Grass Valley, Nevada County, California. California Department of Parks and Recreation are overseeing environmental restoration projects at Empire Mine State Historic Park. As a state park, the project must adhere to state regulations. Previous cultural resources studies performed for the project identified and evaluated elements of the Empire Mine Historic District pursuant to CEQA requirements, and updated the national register nomination. ASC will consult with California State Parks on a work order basis to ensure elements of the Historic District or protected during ongoing restoration activities.
