The Anthropological Studies Center (ASC) will continue efforts towards the repatriation of Native American human remains and associated funerary items, and if present, unassociated funerary objects, objects of cultural patrimony, and sacred objects (collectively referred to as cultural items) housed at ASC. This effort includes consultation with tribes in determining cultural items and to whom the human remains and cultural items should be repatriated, and may conclude with the physical return of the human remains and cultural items to the appropriate tribe, assistance with reburial of cultural items, if requested by tribes, or to an agreement, if the tribe(s) so wish, to continue housing the remains and cultural items at SSU until the tribe(s) can accept them.
