A General Plan is a long-term policy document that guides the future growth and development of a city or county. It outlines goals, strategies, and priorities for land use, housing, transportation, conservation, public services, and more, ensuring sustainable and organized community planning. When developing the policies of a General Plan, cities need to know the current state of their communities. We looked at demographic and land use data for Healdsburg, California, and explored several characteristics important to future planning. These data sources include the U.S. Census, ESRI Business Analyst, and various natural resource agencies.
