Woman's fashion is evolving every day with a new trend or style that has become popular. During my research, I found different kinds of dresses and confident women wearing them without a care. It was not until I started reading about how men responded to the new fashion choice that I felt uncomfortable. In today's light, women are told to be confident in their skin, to express themselves however they may please, unlike during the 1920s when they were told to cover up, they were reckless and had no manners or the proper upbringing because the V neck on her dress was lowered. In the 1920s, there was a massive transformation in women's fashion based on political changes in society. During this time, the First World War recently ended in 1918, and it left a significant impact on culture and fashion. Women began to wear shorter skirts and dresses and reveal more skin over time to express a sense of freedom and equality. Men and other women disagreed with this change and preferred the more modest look regarding fashion and personality. This topic became highly controversial at this time when women were given the right to vote. Women publicly expressed feminism through the way they dressed, and it has continued to be a form of communicating one's views to this day. I show examples of different fashion styles in the 1920s, what people had to say about it, and how women stood their ground when it came to this topic.
